Quantitative Research

1. CAPI – Computer Aided Personal Interviews
Computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) is an interviewing technique in which the respondent or interviewer uses an electronic device to answer the questions.
CAPI researches help to control the interview processes as the interviewer is present with the respondents at the time of interview and after the interview, the data collected is sent to the central computer through a secured connection.
Advantages:

  • The face-to-face setting allows the interviewer to capture verbal and non-verbal feedback.
  • Personal interviewing allows for interviews of longer duration. Interviews of 45 minutes or more are not uncommon.
  • Modern devices can record audio feedback from respondent, track GPS location and allows pictures to be taken of the interview, thus adding to the quality of the data.
  • There is no need for transcription
  • The presence of an interviewer helps when probing for spontaneous awareness of certain topics.

2. Computer Aided Telephonic Interviews
Interviews carried out by telephone are guided by a questionnaire displayed on the screen of a computer. The interviewer records answers via the keyboard to correspond with the pre-coded responses displayed on the screen.
CATI research has considerable advantages:

  • The interviewer is left free to concentrate on the interview itself as the routing instructions are taken care of
  • Data is entered directly and the subsequent transactions of data processing are eliminated – cost and punching errors are reduced
  • The whole process is speeded up because data is entered as it is obtained
  • At intervals during the survey, the researcher can interrogate the computer to examine the results
  • An analysis of results can be obtained immediately after the last interview has been completed

3. Dynamic Clinic:
A dynamic clinic is conducted to get a thorough understanding of static & dynamic interactions of the product. How does the consumer react to using the product in a natural setting? Products can be tested & the review is instant when it comes to Dynamic Clinics. The reaction of the customer is recorded instantly

Advantages of Dynamic Clinic:

  • Understand how the consumer uses the product
  • What are the barriers in embracing the product
  • How does the product fare with the TG identified
  • Does the consumer resonate with your product

4. Mystery Shopping:
Fundamentally, mystery shopping measures the quality of customer experience. The parameters to ensure that a customer will have a good experience are:

  • How customers will be greeted
  • What is the maximum acceptable waiting time
  • Was there refreshments offered
  • Were the relevant brochures present at the facility
  • Did the sales person follow a script while explaining the details of the product/service
  • What was the tonality of the sales person
  • Did the sales person identify & understand the requirements of the consumer
  • Was the product on display clean, displayed with good lighting & in an attractive manner

The above are just few parameters we look for when conducting a mystery audit.
